I am attempting to create a VFP 9.0 distribution file. I have included the following Redistributables:

GDI Plus Redist Module
Microsoft C Runtime Library 7.1
Microsoft Visual Foxpro 9 Report Applications
Microsoft Visual Foxpro 9 Resource (all of them)
Microsoft Visual Foxpro 9 Runtime Libraries
Microsoft Visual Foxpro OLE DB Provider

The setup runs successfully on another machine (both machines are XP), but when I try to run the application I get the message 'This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

What am I missing?

Rights, probably.

Did the user that it was installed have adminstrative rights? If not the DLL's don't get registered.

Regards,

Mike

I do have administrative rights on that machine.

One thing that I did notice is that the setup program does copy MSVCR71.dll to the application folder. If I copy it to the windows\system32 folder (suggested on another bulletin board) I can run my test program okay.

How do I get it to install in the proper folder?

Doesn't Intellisense have the option to install to a special folder?

Regards,

Mike

By default the merge module for MSVCR71 installs on the app dir, just change this to [SystemFolder] at the module properties.

Oops, Craig. Absolutely right.

What Gerardo said.
