VFP 7.0 to VFP 9.0, linking to w2.6b

I have Foxpro 2.6Windows apps and VFP 7.0 apps linked. They still share and both update common files. Can VFP 9.0 open/update/append etc to 2.6 files?

1) Can FP2.6b windows open VFP 9.0 files If files are created and done currently as FOX2x under VFP 7.0?

I want to go to VFP 9.0. But am not ready if it will require tons of work immediately.
