I did a few calculations and I realized that the screen I am using does not use all of the memory in the graphics card, it actually has 16MB, but I use a mere 219KB of video space, what happens to all the rest of it?
Would it be available for program variables for a program that desperately needs more RAM?

That memory is outside the reach of your system. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

How so?

The memory card is seperated in 64K banks, the screen uses 4 of them, by switching the banks it would seem possible to reach the entire memory card.

QBASIC does not see the 16MB nor does it even look for it. The SCREEN statement only has modes compatible with older cards. Now, in theory you could try to access the memory directly but then you run into other problems...

I was planning on POKEing to it, what other problems do you think I would run into?
