Hello,

I have to connect to my company with a cisco vpn client 4.0.4.
I am using an ADSL line (1056/128 kBit/s).
The normal internet access is working fine. But the VPN connection gets a maximum download of 8 kByte/s.
My collegues can connect faster.
I tried different routers and a DSL-modem but nothing really helped.
I have an Athlon XP 3000+ running Windows2000.
Any idea?

Yeah its not your Internet. Are your collegues connecting at the same time as you or are they telling you this after the fact. From what it sounds like is you are connecting when everyone else or other people are connecting to the VPN and depending on the circuit coming into the VPN will determine your speed.

So if you have a T1 connected to your VPN Concentrator and 13 people connected to it all with DSL or Cable things can get bogged down very quickly. Try the connection at different times throughout the day.

Do you AOL as your ISP?

No, it was not AOL. I tried "tiscali" and "faventia" as ISPs ans since the problem was with both, I thought it must be something else.
But now I changed my provider again, and with the new ISP "1&1" the speed is fine.
I guess it was a problem with the size of the packets but don't know.
Thanks for your hint (with AOL).
