Here's the setting:
Fiber connection to these two computers (the PDC and a dummy workstation we're trying to GHOST).
The LAN is a 100Mbps and our internet connection is a T1 connection.
So, I tried copying a 100 MB file from the workstation to the PDC and it took FOREVER. I think it froze
along the way and we had to shut down the workstation. This happened a couple of times so I downloaded
some shareware tool off the net and found out the connection speed was less than 1Mbps!!!! There's hardly
any network activity on the LAN since school hasnt started yet so it's just the PDC and that one workstation
being used.
I switched the NIC and checked the protocols but found nothing out of the ordinary. Ping times to the router,
PDC, and switch were all fine. Connection to the Internet was fine, but it seems transferring files internally
is very very slow.
Any clue as to why?
