Hi,
I have the following problem:
I have to restore the content of a backup I made; I mapped a network drive to put there the result but using "Restore Wizard", when I select the remote computer where is the drive that I want to use, it asks me for a password: I tried every possible password receiving this message "the credential supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials".
(in the list of drives, given by Restore wizard, where I can do the restore, the drive that I mapped it's not present)

What's wrong?
Thank you very much.
Luigi

Hi,

This is a Microsoft problem relating to your user account, see below for info-

Best way to restore is to create a share on the server you wish to restore to, then start the restore manager (not wizard), select your session(s) using the 'restore by session' method, click on the destination tab, untick 'restore to original location', expand the network icon, then expand the microsoft windows network icon, then the domain, and finally the server where you created the share. Highlight the share and the full path will appear in the window above.

Click on the start button to run the job. As long as you have enough administrative rights to run the restore job you shouldnt need any security information as full control is set on the shared destination by default (as long as the server is in the same domain)

Hi SjrH,

I have been noticing that my arcserve 2000 (SP4) on W2k (SP3), with E2K (SP3) bricklevel backup does not work when I try to restore any mailbox, but the same works when I backup M:Exchange, As per microsoft I am not suppose to backup or scan this M: drive, as it may corrupt the Exchange Database. Pls, tell me more about Ontrack Power tools?
I am still not sure as to what is to be backed up in Exchange and how?
Pls, reply

Thanks,
