Right now my Nortel Norstar system (8x24 DR5 KSU and Startalk Mini) has 5 lines and people dial into the main number and the receptionist transfers them to the person they want to talk to.

If, I wanted to no longer have the receptionist answer calls, but rather have each person in the office have their own phone seven digit number for outsiders to call them on, would it be possible to do if I have 5 lines and 15 office people? Or would I need 15 phone lines - one for each person.

Thanks

You would need 15 phone lines.

Another option if still provided by the carrier is using Analog DID's along with the 5 lines.
DID = Direct Inward Dial (Private Line)
The 5 lines you have would be for outgoing.

Required:
2 Port Exp card
12X0 Trunk Module
DID Line card

Maybe your best to go Auto Attendant using the Mini and let callers direct themselves via the CCR/AA.
