hello all-
my problem is this: i am assembling a catalog, using the data merge function in PM7. now, when i merge records, the newly made records are dropped in horizontally left to right. i need to drop them in vertically. is this possible?

any advice appreciated

matt

Hi, NewSlang,

Have you tried rotating the text block through 90°?

OK, clarification- I need the records to sequence into the document top to bottom so instead of:
1,2,3,4,
5,6,7,8,

i would like
1,5,9
2,6,10,
3,7,11,
4,8,12

Thanks for the help
matt

Eeek - I'm not sure you can get the records to merge in the sequence yu have outlined.

The only way I could think of how to do this would be along similar lines to what John suggested - but with the added precaution of laying out the page in landscape mode and then .... I've just realised that rotating the page and the records after doing this you would end up with:

4
3
2
1 etc

and not

1
2
3
4 etc.

So can't help you here. Sorry.

thanks anyway, i think i'll just rethink my layout so the horizontal sequence works.

thanks for the aid

matt
