Help!
I created a database last year sometime in Access 97. It now needs some updates and changes. I now have Access 2000, but the user does not. I have the database on my system, but I can't make any changes to the forms or reports from here. I don't want to convert to 2000, because it will eventually have to go back to the 97 user.
Even if I wanted to convert, the Convert is grayed out, unavailable to me.
I appreciate any ideas or suggestions on this.

You can have two versions of Access on your system. Here's an FAQ on the issue:
FAQ181-496

You should be able to convert to Access 2000 and then back to Access 97. To convert to 2000 you will have to close the database window and then do Tools -> Database Utilities -> Convert Database. The reason it is probably greyed out on the open version you are looking at is because when it asked the first time you answered no to converting.

After you make your changes you can then got to Convert Database again and choose Convert to Previous Version. This is new in Access 2000.

However, be aware that all that works in Access 2000 does not work in Access 97 and vise versa so make sure you keep a copy of the original just in case.

Hope this helps.
