We have an IP406 box v2.1(15) and two x Analog Pots30+ one with version 4.1(44) and one with 4.1(15)

Would there be any reason these would have conflicts? The one with (44) has an issue with some ports when you call them (the phone doesn't ring although you can answer).

How do I upgrade the software on the 4.1(15) box?

Thanks for your help...

All modules need to match,
go to support.avaya.com and find the IP Office product website there, then choose 2.1, in the download section you will not find 2.1.15 anymore but you will find the latest 2.1, also there is a tech bulletin # 68 which will describe the steps to perfom an upgrade

One more thing, if you are running VMPro and or any USER applications like phone manager, you will need to upgrade those as well, the latest CDs are also available in that same location

2 points

1) V2.1(15) was an abysmal build of firmware & should never be used

2)Your problem is a known issue with V2.1(44) phone module firmware

Upgrade your system to iether V2.1(73) or as you are not using DT handsets you could upgrade all the way to V3.1(65)

Thank you IPGuru and jml2665 for your help. I am now downloading the 2.1.73 version of the software.

What is confusing me is the Analog boxes as they are versions 4.1.15 and 44. Is this firmware on the same download for 2.1.73? How do I upgrade / make the same on these boxes?

We didn't use to have this issue, but the box with .44 on went away for repair and came back with a newer software version on it hence throwing up these issues.

Thank you again for your help.

When you run the upgrade utility to upgrade the main control until to 2.1.73, you will be able to upgrade the modules to 4.1.73.

I'm not sure why Avaya has a different release number (eg 2/3 for CPU and 4/5 for the additional modules) maybe someone here can answer that (you never know it may come up in a pub quiz!).

Just what I wanted to hear! I will attempt the upgrade one evening this week!

Thanks again to all that have helped.

Something I would like to just check with any of you with experience of this...

We have 2 other sites that have connections to our phone system via a vpn (they have their own IP boxes), will they still comunicate if they are of different versions to ours here?

Currently our Palma branch has an IP 403 running 2.1.15 (same as here) and our London office has an IP 403 running 2.0.16!

As you can probably tell I wasn't the one that installed all these boxes and am trying to learn a bit more about them as we have dropped the company that did install them.

All three systems can currently talk to each other via the VPN VOIP connection.
