Are having a look at the Version three features in particular the Line Appearance keys as we have had a number sites where we would like to use it unfortunately it looks like it we nay have to wait for release 4 :(

For example
We have found that if you put a line appearance key on a station that line then rings on that station and you cannot stop it. It ignores all DDI and Group ringing features.

This means you cannot put a Line Appearance key on a phone that you just want to monitor and pick up calls on hold etc Like you would on a real key system.

You may have a bug, after all it is beta software (no jokes about the GA software please). Hopefully you've shared your observation with the Avaya field trial team rather than just putting the boot into something that's still work in progress.

My system has no problem with line appearances. Incoming calls on those lines are still routed according to the incoming route settings. Yes, any users with a line appearance for the same line also get alerted as well but thats the point of a line appearance. If its just the parallel alerting thats annoying you then yes, you need to feedback a feature request for having a line appearance ringer off option.

No this is the way it is

Okay, lets clarify.

Which of the following happens on your system and which bit do you find a problem:

1. Phones with a Line appearance override incoming call routing? (thats a bug if it does)

2. Line appearances alert when that line has an incoming call.

ps. have you actually talked to the Avaya guys about this.

If a phone has a Lne apperance key thet it will ring ( Ithough this was what was wanted?) it will also ring the desitnation specified in the incomming call route.

£.0 is still in beta test therefor you should be feeding any issues back to Avaya

this forum is not the place to discuss 3.0 problems

Agree, we have enough bugs in the GA stuff that people not feeding back bugs in the beta stuff undoes the point of allowing beta trials.

Not a bug, this is how the feature was specified and it’s feature set is part of the advertised public road map. (If you want the Line to stop ringing go DND)

I think I know the rules by now, the idea of my posting is to highlight the features limitations before you guys get to excited about this feature.

If the key phone feature is applicable to your customers and you have access to version 3 have a close look at the Line Key option.
