Hi guys...

Most cases Back-Up works without any problems. Per day it does a Backup to disc and a backup on a sony AIT Library. Usually it works without any problems but sometimes it starts the job and after six hours it gets quit with a amount done of 130 kB...

We've got no idea why it's happening, It isn't cyclic. There are no problems with the servers, nothing. He just stops working after the first 130 kBs until the limit (some hours) quits the job.

Got any idea why this is and how we could fix this problem?

thanx n cheers
robert

p.s.: using veritas be 9.1 :)

There's not much to go on.

What errors are you seeing in Veritas Backup Exec? Check the job history.

Are you seeing any errors in the Windows Event Viewer Logs? Look for messages with times around the time the job failed.

There is an issue if you run a restore then the next job hangs. Was there a restore job run befor the backup

The only error message is that the job was quit because of the time limit (6 hours). It tells that it did like 130 KB in the 6 hours. This ain't normal.

Usually we store about 70 Gb in something about 3 hours.

The servers keep running without problems, no errormessage on either of them. Nothing!

@ Restore-Job. Nope. Wasn't that day either. Was i think two days before - so there were two backup jobs done before.

It's just strange...
