Veritas Certification

I was on the Veritas site, and I read where they are offering an on-line certification course for Veritas BEX. I was considering taking the course, but need some opinions first. Is it worth it? Are there any advantages to having this cert? I use BEX at work and my former job used it as well, but do you think BEX is so widely used in the industry that a BEX cert would be useful in terms of finding future employment? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

I think its a plus but nothing like a A+ or anything. I would get the education media kit. If you have been using it for years and understand it then I would take the test.

Backup Exec is only a workgroup class product, ceritfication may help you in a Sys Admin role for a company that uses the product. But other than that I think you would be better to get cetified in an Enterprise produt such as Veritas Netbackup or Legato Networker.

It really depends on what career path you choose. If you are working in the storage market then the later certifications will aid you immensley.

I am already A+, MCSE 2K, and CCNP certified and have been working for a while, but I just saw the cert offering and wondered if it's something I should persue. I'm also looking at a Unix cert as well, but don't know much about it. I have a REALLY good job now, but I want to become indespensable to them. I'm already the "go-to-girl" for any problems, but I want excellence... Jack of all trades, master of only Cisco... Does that make sense?
