We use ArcServe to backup our LotusNotes server. I don't know if it's better than Veritas or equivalent. I have heard that both software packages have their faults and that people are generally satisfied with either. I would recommend ArcServe to anyone.
We did nomerous tests on a customers site with both ArcServe and Backup Exec. The conclusin was that ArcServe left the race as a winner. A issue to keep in mind is if you are using Domino Cluster with Backup Exec. If you then report a error or try to get help from Veritas they will hand it right back to you with the answer "We don't support Domino Clustering" Best of luck
i agree with Lamaar, arcserve works very stable, for critical backup we installed an additional (low end machine) server which replicates nsf files who are constantly in use, the rep schedule allows arcserve to backup those files on the additional server when not in use.
it is allways a safe idea to have critical nsf files replicated on mulitple servers (harddisk space doesn't cost to much any more)
