Hello,

On my Unix machines the empty (0 Kilobyte) files are not being backuped up.

(some of them:
File etc/utmppipe was not found, or could not be accessed.
File etc/initpipe was not found, or could not be accessed.
File etc/cron.d/FIFO was not found, or could not be accessed.
File etc/saf/_sacpipe was not found, or could not be accessed.
File etc/saf/_cmdpipe was not found, or could not be accessed....)

In log i get an error message "the files are locked or could not be opened".
If i ran a manual backup it all works fine.
What is the problem?
If anybody has an idea please let me know.
Thank you,

Which version of Backup Exec? When you're running the backup, what credentials are you using? When you run it manually, are you manually firing the same job that's scheduled (but doesn't run properly) later?

The version i use is 9.0.
The credentials i use root/password where password is not actual unix root password. it is specified in an agent.cfg file.
I have tried to create new jobs but with the same result. The jobs always fail.
Thank you for responce
