I recently installed Veritas 8.6 trial version. I have a new Benchmark DLT 7 autoloader, which I am trying to select software for. Shortly after I had installed Veritas 8.5 (which worked fine with the DLT 7) a sales rep contacted me and told me to down load the 8.6 version and see how I like it before I make my final purchase. Also in between this time I had tried the NovaStor Nova Net 8 backup. Now that Veritas 8.6 is installed, I am unable to run a backup because it shows the drive as off-line. No hardware has ever been disconnected or moved at all since the original installation, at which time everything worked. Thanks for any help on this.

Right Click on the Autoloader in the Devices Tab. Choose properties. Goto the "Configuration" tab and UNCHECK the "Enable device for backup" box then hit apply. Now CHECK it and hit apply again.
Next do the same but right click on the Drive itself (Listed under the autoloader in the devices tab).
Now go to the devices tab and right click and refresh the device. One of the two actions above should set it back to being online. Hope it helps it has for me when mine go mysteriously offline.
