Hello,
This is in reference to ContactStore that was Witness but is now Verint Systems, we're running IP Office ContactStore csipo-7_8sp1_16. Since the Sunday time change, so far all ContactStore call recording data is behind one hour. I've fixed this (I believe Java-based) issue before with Avaya tech support's help (I think they used the tzupdater tool) the last two times (it was Witness back then) the time changed, most recently early Nov. 2009 and we're using the same server now as we were in November, the main relevant change is the ContactStore & VM Pro upgrade a couple weeks ago. The IP Office system server has the correct time, as if you press the Time Of Day LCD button on our phones it shows the correct time. Why is this ContactStore time change problem occurring again and how do I fix this new occurrence?
Thanks,
David

Thanks for the info. However, I tried to run the tool and it could not find and JRE. I'm new to this toold any help on this?

Thanks,

Bryan

So you dloaded jtzu-1.6.10b.zip, unzipped and read the information in jtzu_readme.htm?

It's people like you who generalize.

Unfortunately we're still here having the same time offset issue. Last Friday Afternoon Avaya Tech support provided these two similar solutions via e-mail to me that I'll put between the quotes:

"
Ensure the CMOS time is correct. Using your Internet Browser navigate to Sun.com and download TZUpdater.jar

Run the TZUpdater.jar file to setup the time correctly. Put the TZUpdater.jar file into C:\Program Files\Witness\jre\bin

C:\Program Files\Witness\jre\bin\lib to verify previous installation has not been accomplished. (No Updated files or directories)

C:\Program Files\Witness\jre\bin\tzupdater.jar file

At the command prompt execute in the following C:\Program Files\Witness\jre\bin directory.

java -jar tzupdater.jar -u

Every installation should be in the C:\Program Files\Witness\jre\bin\lib. Its the way the TZUpdater.jar is written

you can stop and restart the process if you like, but in my expereince, once you execute the java sequence you are done. Any recorded calls going forward will have the correct time. You can always reboot the server if you want.

Time Zone and Daylight Savings Time (DST) Support
All dates and times are stored in the database in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). However, when you view records using the search and replay application, these are converted to your local time. If you view the records using a database query tool the times will be shown in the time zone of the client machine, which may be different from the server time. The XML files relating to the recordings include ISO standard time stamps, giving both UTC and offset from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Issue: Incorrect time on Contact Store files. The recorded calls in Witness ContactStore application and it is related .xml files are one hour behind the current time after daylight savings change.

Article: KB01071849

Cause: This is a Java issue. User needs to run the Java tzupdater.jar file.

Resolution: Follow these directions to run the Java tzupdater.jar file:

1. Go to Start, Run and type cmd to open a command window.
2. Change Directory (CD) until you get to: C:\Program Files\Witness\JRE\bin.
3. In the bin directory type: java -jar tzupdater.jar -u.
4. CD to the zi directory.
5. After the "updater" file is installed you should see this added directory under zi: zi.tzdata200c. You may need to refresh the screen before it will display.
6. Stop/Start Contact Store Services to implement the change
"

I worked these above steps around midnight Saturday night and they did not fix the issue (and I did restart the contactstore OS service sat. night after applying the fix).
Calls are still being timestamped an hour behind all day yesterday and so far today.

Anyone here on tek-tips know how to fix this?

I also tried all of the above. I believe the tzupdater.jar 1.3.25 does not have the correct update. I'm trying to find 1.3.28. Anyway, my temp work around was to set the local PC clock to -7. We are pacific. PDT is -8. It is now working. The times are correct, however, it is not a fix.

I'm still trying to fix it as well. If I find anything I will post.

Bryan
