Verifying label, moving backward 2 files

I have an RMAN that job completed over an hour ago but the tape is still loaded in the drive with: verifying label, moving backward 2 files. The tape drive should say writing, done in the GUI and then eject after a few minutes, but it is stuck on Verifying label, moving backward 2 files and tape is spinning in the tape drive trying to verify label.

Try this

to eject the tape from the drive
nsrmm -H -f device

then

sjimm scsidev@x.x.x drive x slot x
to put the tape where it belongs
