Verify function of an old Wanbook

Hallo:
I got an old wanbook with E1 pod, without any information, without powersupply.

First of all I had to find out that the book requires
at least 5.6Vdc for complete rebooting;

Is this usual or does it indicate a fault?



Status: Wan book powers up Status LED read
Finishes Init Status LED yellow flashing
(waiting for download from Sniffer)

When connecting to Sniffer (V4.7.5 and V4.8 eval)
I can select WANBOOK via a XIRCOM adapter


When datatransfer is started.(popup with progress
bar goes to 100%)
Staus LED is steady yellow
After transfer status LED goes to RED

and forever... the same sequence.

Is there a chance verify the function of the WANBOOK?
Are special settings to be made for XIRCOM network adapter?
How to I upgrade the WANBOOK's finmware?

I really need help or a recommended junkyard
