Verifone PINpad 1000 SE Pinout

I need help with a pinout for a Verifone PINpad 1000 SE. I know it has three wires, red, green and black. I would assume black would be ground but you never know. I'm looking for what is ground/rts, txd, rxd, cts. Thanks in advance.

Is it a db-9 or db-25? If it's one of these, you need to look at where the wire's base is inside of the adapter and look at the number that corresponds to each wire to determine the function. Colors can vary depending on manufacturer, but once you get the number at the base of the wire, you can google "rs 232 pinout" and find plenty of info on which connections serve each purpose.
