Hi,

I have this virus on my system as well as one called 'Jave.Nocheat'. Norton is unable to quarantine or delete either, even in safe mode. Does anyone know how this is done. I have found the zip file (from which both viruses originated) in my Temp Internet Folder. Can I simply delete it manually?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Chris

Are you running Windows Xp if so turn off system restore, it may be that the virus/file is located in the restore folder which it cant delete the file from. Yes you can delete the files from Temp Inet Folders, i would delete everything in that folder.

Here some more info about it from symantec site if you have seen it already.

Actually not to be a critic just a person trying to help you out. If you read symantecs boards and there manual.
to remove this bug you need to be in safe mode under administrator rights.
with system restore turned off.

alot of removal and detection is really set up to run that way by symantec. the user window that most people log into as a normal session is not the best place for norton av to be run at. Flaws on detection and deletion abound here.

do a true scan turn off your system restore
then log into safe mode log on as admin

run nav scan for system

delete if you have too if it finds anything

this should solve your problem

It is a unfortunate thing that as a consumer you are treated as well lets be polite cattle. Companies need to change there attitudes on how they deal with there clients more honesty and transparency from there tech departments to there executives
