VelociRaptor - Ports Used for LiveUpdates & Suggestions 1

Good Morning,

I will soon be turning this Firewall (1100) live on my network. I'm trying to be prepared as possible, and pre-define all ports used for our most used programs & their live updates. I guess you could say I have a fear of turning that sucker live, and nothing getting in OR out.

Does Symantec AntiVirus / Corporate Edition (7.x - 8.x) use only ports 80, 21 and 8080 for Live Updates?

Also, if you have any suggestions for a new install of one of these devices, I'd appreciate any/all feedback you may have. Or, any issues you may have encountered installing one of these.

It depends on what you are doing. Live update only needs FTP. You can download other ways, and there are plenty of articles on Symantec's website.

These are some articles of some ports used. There are more articles on their site. Usually though an antivirus newsgroup would be better suited to tell you what ports they use. I use Corp in my environment, and only have ftp open for them. It works fine...
