I have called some businesses and heard "If you know your party's extension, you can dial it at any time. Press 1 for Service, press 2 for parts...." How is this accomplished? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
if you don't have variables then you could do one of two things
1 collect 4 digits after announcement xxxx
2 goto step 10 if digit = 1
3 goto step 11 if digit = 2
etc...
9 route to digits with cov y if unconditionally
for your announcement you could say dial 1 for customer service, 3 for parts, etc, if you know your parties ext dial it now...
it will wait for the interdigit timeout if someone only dials one digit...
so you could also have in your annoucement for parts press 1 followed by the #, for cust service press 2 followed by #, if you know your parties extension dial it now...
the # will stop digit collection immediately and not wait for the timeout...
Using your voicemails Auto Attendant feature would do the trick. If your extension range starts with 1XXX then your first option would be 2 and so on.
If someone were to call in and hear "If you know the extension dial now..."
The caller will hit 1XXX and the voicemail will transfer to that extension.
Option 2 would go to Service - You would just enter Services extension "1234" in the extension field and so on.

page 11 of system-parameters, under vectoring, "prompting timeout",,, don't set it too low though,, especially if you have other vectors that prompt for an entry,, if you set it too low, then the user would not have enought time to enter a digit.....
