I'm trying to do some DR work for an insurance company, they want to be able to look at the callers number and route calls according to area codes.

They need to be able to activate this remotely.

The idea is if an area has an emergency they can priorities these calls.

Any ideas or is anyone doing anything similar

Use a Vector Routing Table(VRT) Ref. ACD Guide 07-300478 Rel 3.1 Feb 2006.
Check the ANI digits against values stored in the VRT ex:
goto step 10 if ANI in table 1
When an emergency occurs in a certain geographic location add the NPA-NXX number in the VRT.

just don't forget to put a '+' after the ani in the routing table,,

so area code 413 would be 413+ when entering it into the VRT...

since you are only trying to match the first three digits of the ani...

You may also want to look at your LD/toll-free provider's geo-routing options. I work for an insurance company as well, and we use a combination of carrier provided geo-routing by area code and then using vector processing by ani. Works pretty well.

thanks to everyone for there help on this.

VR Tables do exactly what I need, going to try and do something funky with vector variables to allow this to be altered remotely or by none technical staff.

I'll let you know how I go
