Hi, Please be guided because im really newbie in vectoring.

I have this basic vector for our main trunk line:

1. collect 4 digits after announcement xxxx
2. route-to digits with coverage y
3. route-to number (console number)
4. stop

I want to make some changes or addition. What will be added if I want to tell callers that they dialed wrong extension number? Also, in that current set-up, if the caller will not dial any number or will not dial 0 for operator it will just keep on ringing.

Thanks a lot.

For the last part of your question, when you do a route-to you should check to make sure that the coverage part of that line is set to 'y'. Now for the first part...

I was thinking about this for a while and I can't think of a good way to do it. However, here's a really bad and administratively horrible way to do it. You can have the vector check the digits against a set of VRTs. In these VRTs you would have to include every extension number in your switch (or atleast the ones you want people to be able call through this vector). Keeping in mind that if you do this, every time you add or remove an extension you'll need to correct the corresponding VRT.

Again, I really don't recommend doing this but it's your system and if it really needs to be able to check to see if an extension exists than I think this is the way you'll have to go.

Hi thrjkro,

What you mean about this?

when you do a route-to you should check to make sure that the coverage part of that line is set to 'y'-- where to check this out?

Also, what is VRT?

Thanks a lot.
