Hi all,

Im new to Illustrator, and Im using the CS2 version.

When I have created an original graphic in Illustrator does this mean it is a vector graphic?

or do I have to export it as a particular file format.

Because when I opened the document produced in Illustrator in Adobe Photoshop it looked pixelated.

I would appreciate it if someone could share their knowledge.

Thanks.

Illustrator is a vector program, so what you create using the tools in it will be vector unless *you* tell the program to rasterize it.

When you try to open a .ai file in Photoshop, there's a dialogue with several options (dimensions, anti-aliasing, etc.) that automatically pops-up. In order to keep the graphics smooth, anti-aliased must be checked.

Thanks for clarifying that jconingham.
I appreciate it.
