This may be a shut-up-n00b question but...

I've discovered our System-Integrator/Contractor built our Definity system without an announcement board. I'm setting up meet-me-conferencing, and although the vectors technically work, I'm wondering if I can use Audix Bulletin-Board extensions in place of announcements? That's originally what I though I was doing, but I discovered my mistake.

Any help is appreciated!!

Not sure how that's going to work, as once you transfer out of the vector to the audix bb..how are you going to get transfered back to the vector steps?..I think I would invest in an annc board !!

Bob,
Agreed. Much better to do this the right way. I drew up a flow chart that uses vectors and transfers to Audix to play the message, then the audix (set up as an Auto-Attendant with a 0-sec timeout transfer to the next vector) plays a sound and sends it to another vector for further processing. It's a long, clunky and silly way to do it, but I think it'd work. For now, users are happy using a prompt-less conference bridge, so that's where I'm leaving it.

Thanks,
Dan!

If you don' want to purchase a VAL board you could just use the auto attendant feature in audix to complete this. Then have the destination of each menu option be a meet-me VDN that puts them into the bridge.

This will work if you have a limited number of bridges. If you have more than a handful you are going to have to get a val board.
