Is there a way to setup a voicemail indicator for a VDN that has a voicemail box? I have tried aut-msg-wt and man-msg-wt and neither works.

Here is my scenario...

VDN: 76500
VMBox: 76500
Avaya G3 S8700

The VDN routes to 2 different departments, each having their own VMbox on Intuity Audix. The second department is not that big of a problem since we can build a X-ported station and allow set that up as aut-msg-wt. The 76500 is the VMbox causing problems...just can't figure out how to trick Avaya into giving notification without have to change the VMBox extension.

Any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

Sounds like you have everything else set up correctly. Take a look at your VDN setup. On page 2 verify that the AUDIX name field is populated with 'audix'. If not change that and the message lamps should work fine.

I have audix1 in the Audix name field...which is correct. The only thing I can think of is that it is not working since there isn't a station associated with the VMbox, it is actually a VDN...

man-msg-wt won't work. It's designed to be a message indicator that's activated by a button on a station where someone would take messages for a group. The message taker would have a button for every person they take messages for.

When the group message taker has a message for a person, then press man-msg-wt for the person, and a light comes on at their station to tell them to check with the message taker.

aut-msg-wt with an extension of 76500 should work.

You'll want to start with a mailbox that has no new messages, and then leave a test message for that VDN. If there are any new messages, the audix will assume that it has already notified the PBX at least once, and that the message waiting lamp is already lit.

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)

Also double check that the Audix subscriber information has the correct switch number and community ID fields set.

For some reason it was not working when I tried it before. I must have left the message prior to adding the button. It is working now. Thank you all!
