Hey Guys,

Strange request came in from a customer where they have asked if it is possible to have a list of VDN's listed on the phone directory. They would require it to be editable and be able to omit numbers....

I can only think of a few work arounds using extensions with the VDN's as cover paths however that would involve heavy admin not to mention a change in the customers stats and licensing costs.

I have reviewed quite a few manuals now and it seems fairly clear to me that it is not an option. As you can appreciate the amount of manuals for just one release of CM is fairly huge so I could have missed it...!

Customer is on ACM 4.1 and using 96xx IP phones. I believe they want to be able to direct calls straight to skills internally however I haven't had that confirmed.

Just thought I would ask if any of you fine gentlemen/ladies have ever came across a set-up for this? Or if it is a total no go apart from the work around I suggested earlier.

Any suggestions gratefully received :)

Thanks,

GB

Let me google that for you!

There may be an Avaya Special Development that includes VDNs in the Integrated Directory. Check with the Avaya Account Rep. Typically there is a fee for activating Special Developments.

As you pointed out, you can use 'virtual' stations with a Coverage Path to the VDN. That will include them in the Directory but that will get old real quick. Don't use x-ported stations - They take up Station RTU.

Thanks, Kevin. Seems to make sense to me. Will contact Avaya and see if that's a possibility!
