Im very new to the whole Definity System so bare with me. I have the vector already setup the right way so thats not the problem at all.

We had a receptionist and she used to take our calls for us. Now we have a new gal sitting in her place. So, I've given her a new number and set her up just great. Now we want to have that old number of the receptionist be a Vector Directory Number.

When i type in Add VDN #### it says "####" Identifier previously assigned; Please select another.

I've changed that port for that phone to an X port. What else do i need to do? Please help me out.

Thanks,

Ross Woodruff

An extension number can be used only once, either as a station, a VDN, an announcement, or an Agent Login ID. In your case the number is still used at the station. do 'remove station xxxx' then do 'add vdn xxxx'.

woodywoodruff3,

... and 'list usage extension xxxx' command will help you with finding what kind of object is using this particular extension number.
