I need to create a method so when someone dails an extension and it is busy/no answer, it forwards the call to another extension and follows that cover path into the voicemail.

I created a VDN, 3616, which has the following line in the vector:

01 Route-to number 3133 with cov y if unconditionally

When I dial 3616, it forwards to x 3133 perfectly.

Now I create a coverpath and put v3616 as the first point. When I dial the extension, and it goes to the first coverage point, it just rings there.

What am I missing? I have a G3 running V11.

Thanks.

Can you change the first coverage point to 3133? I think when the vector does it's route-to thing the coverage path sees the call as being completed and does'nt track it any further.

If I change the first coverage point to 3133, it will not roll into the voicemail for 3133 should no one answer 3133. The coverage path will either pull it back to the voicemail of the extension originally dialed or simply let it ring until they hang up.

What I am basically trying to do is forward an extension when it is busy/no answer. Coverage paths, as you know, will ring other locations but never really forward the call.

Try putting 3133 as the first coverage point, 3616 as the second coverage point anfd change the vector for 3616 to:
messaging split __ for ext 3133.
