If you have been a good boy this year then Santa will give you one for Christmas, that one will not work on a IP500.

PS. Don't trust every thing what's told on E-bay

You'll need:

700417389 | IPO 500 MC VCM 32 |

4 VOIP channels as standard, up to 32 with licenses, can take trunk daughter card. Standard 4 channels, use licenses. BRI/PRI can be installed on this card

What am I missing? You should be able to marry a legacy carrier with a vcm 30 in a IP500. I can't say I have tried it.

The IP500 control unit can accept up to 2 IP400 trunk or VCM cards by mounting each card on an IP500 Legacy Card Carrier
• This card supports the following IP400 cards:
• PRI T1
• Dual PRI T1
• PRI 30 E1 (1.4)
• Dual PRI E1
• PRI 30 E1R2 RJ45
• Dual PRI E1R2 RJ45
• ANLG 4 Uni
• BRI-8 (UNI)
• VCM 4
• VCM 8
• VCM 16
• VCM 24
• VCM 30

Bas1234 wants to sell a bit more this year....;)
In fact all VCM 5, 10, 20 and 30 does work in a IP500 with a legacy card, but only the VCM 30 is supported and guaranteed to work fine.

A VCM32 for a IP500 is cheaper then the VCM30 IP400, but this all depends on how much VCM channels he want's to use.
I did not know a VCM30 would work on a legacy card carrier.
But at the end I think a VCM32 for the IP500 will be cheaper and will be supported in the future.

110% sure it works with IP500 if you have the carrier!
The DSP is a little "smaller" than to the one Bas1234 recomands (VCM32).
BUT if you have / can afford good bandwidth with your ISP then you can buy it from ebay and use it with G711 and be able to make 30 simultaneous calls!

if you buy the older 30 channel you dont have to licence it like the 32 channel for the ipo. (could be wrong but im sure its the case.)

HSM, think about the future if you know what i mean :)
The ip500 VCM card has better echo cancellation !

Buying a second hand old VCM 30 and then use a legacy card carrier is just being cheap and really not being cheap in the end.

@ devers:

On 3rd of January I will get to work and can put on a carrier a VCM30 and tell you for sure if it works or not! Regarding the licensing (that is different) I do not believe there is any difference but I will check!

Regarding "echo cancellation": If you do not intend to use the speakers so much ... I do not believe it is to big: the difference between 25 and 64 ms! (but I never tested this!)

It is a major difference but you will only know when you hear it !

Devers, good luck with buying on ebay.
It could be crap or you could be lucky.
You have no warranty and no support this way

The better buy an VCM32 without a licence, it's cheaper and supported in the future like i already mentioned!

PS. E-bay is not a business partner, so no support or whatever. So people on E-bay are selling this so cheap because it might come from a system that had died of lightning/power failure. Then very strange things can happen when you're going to use that.

I think a vcm32 will be cheaper anyway

I checked today and the licensing is the same. There is no difference! :)
