Hi!

I have an issue that I can't explain to myself...

IP500v2 (6.1.6) with SIP trunk from inode (UPC Austria) and 16XX Phones:

When I receive a call via SIP no VCM channels are used. When I make a call on the other hand, IP Office grabs two VCM channels and uses them for the whole call. Codec on trunk and phones is set to g711. Reinvite is turned off. SSA says for the active call that g711 is used on both ends. So why are two VCM-channels used? And when correct - why not on incomming calls too?

Am I missing something?

I tried this with three differnt SIP-providers and on another IP500 (6.1.6)- always with the same result.

Can somebody enlighten me?

Firstly, I'd drop the system back to 6.1.5 as there are a few problems with 6.1.6 (mainly is breaks CCR and One-X).

Is Allow Direct Media path selected?

I never touched anything...

I have seen this but only with codec mismatch.
Do you use G.711 Alaw/G.711 Ulaw and the is the trunk G.711 Ulaw/G.711 Alaw ?

When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys!

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

I remember SSA used to have a bug (back at 4.0 something) and it would show VCM's in use when they weren't. Checking with monitor would show that in fact none were in use.

Could the bug be back and this be the issue? :)
