Using Compaq TL891 dual head libraries on a 64 Bit Wide Ultra3 SCSI controller backing up Compaq 3000 remote servers.
This error only occurs on libraries running two jobs on seperate heads backing up the same server (different hard drives), the Accelerator agent also Dr Watson's on occasion.

This works alright on all other servers which have libraries attached and are running a single job.

All servers are running Inncoluate Real Time AV Monitor set to scan incoming files.
Also UnicenterTNG Enterprise Management services are running.

None of the above problems occurred when running 8.5 on this hardware with the above services.
These have only occurred after upgrading to 8.6.

This may be related to the Remote Agent being re-written by Veritas.

All servers have had the latest NT Service Packs, NTSSD's and MDAC 2.5 SP1 installed.

We have run out of ideas....

This has been escalated to Veritas but they are not providing much help.....

Have you tried this?

In InnoculateIT (I don't remember exactly where since we no longer use that program, but I think it's under the advanced tab in Realtime Monitor Options) there is an option for "allow fast backup." Make sure this option IS checked. This will prevent InnoculateIT from trying to scan files that Backup Exec is trying to backup at the same time and therefore cause you to lose connection to the data set.

Hope this helps,
Lance

Why not try ZipToNet - its far easier to use and easier to manage your backups as they are done automatically.

The 'Allow Fast Backup' option is checked.
This is only occurring on High throughput server on large customer sites (unfortunately the most important).
Any site with a single head DLT Library running 1 job is fine.
We have been disabling the AV Software overnight and are still experiencing the problem.

See tech note id 240056 at veritas support site and BE SURE sure to check out the 2 related documents at the bottom of the page that link you to 2 possible solutions.

Good Luck,

Lance
