All,
I'm trying to learn VBA / Macro's for Excel spreadsheets. Can someone post some resources. Note: I'm a complete beginner.
Thank you :)

macro recorder is your friend.

Tools, Macros, Record New Macro

do whatever you want to automate, then look at the code produced.

msdn is a fantastic resource, too.

Take something simple that you want to accomplish and macro record. Then see if you can clean it up to make it more general.

Ask questions here at Tek-Tips in this forum.

Check out other posts, especially where there are stars. I STILL am learning new thing by doing this.

Play around with ideas that you see. Experiment. Experience is a great teacher.

All,
Hi guys, I'm trying to learn macro programming for Excel as well. can you give me tips on how to select and copy only desired cells in a given column? aside from the record macro function is it possible for me to make the code more general?

does a loop and if a good start or there is a much shorter way? thanks
