Hi,

I have recently worked out how to control a RUMBA mainframe using VBA in Microsoft Excel, however in order to do this you have to first predefine a session short name within the API settings of the RUMBA application. The issue I have with this is that the program I have created to perform this RUMBA control is used company wide by a range of different users who are not all technologically minded. As a result of this, it is very hard to explain to the users how to set up their session short name in the setting prior to running the program.

Looking in the API settings page, I can see that the default setting is 'None' and then the other options are the letters of the alphabet. Does anybody know of a way that we can either capture 'None' as a valid session short name or how we can get the macro to locate an open RUMBA session and auto assign a session short name?

Thanks,

Oliver

Hi Oliver,

I am trying to do the same thing with RUMBA and controlling the sessions through VBA. I have very little VBA knowledge. How are you doing that through VBA?

Thanks,
Shiraz
