VB6 Dependency File Question

re: vb6 (sp4), installing w/ installshield pro 5.5

i have a project that uses ado & dao. using data environment/datareport (need sp4 for landscape reports)

running on dev machine ok.
problem on client machine. when i try to view report the app makes reference to app-defined error.

sdk & kb says that this error comes from vb6 not knowing what the app is asking for (runtime error 713 i think), i'm interpreting that to mean i'm missing some files.

i've used several dependency checkers to see what is being called for, but none say i need files that i don't already have.

can anyone direct me where else to look?

Is the opearating system on the client machine different from the one on the development machine ?

Also, have you tried using PDW ?

os on dev machine is 95
os on clients are 95 & 98
and yes i used pdw to compare cab files

same error after mdac_typ install on 98 client

any other ideas?
