I need some help with VB6. I run it on two different machines but on my laptop when I insert a label or a few other random objects VB crashes with a fatal error. I am running Windows XP Home SP1 on both machines. I run everything fine on the desktop. Any ideas of what could be causing this? Any help would be great!

Have you installed any add-ins to VB6? That's where I usually see problems.

Otherwise, I would uninstall/reinstall VB6, plus service packs, and see if that solves it.

I have installed MS Voice but it is also on the desktop. I have reinstalled VB6 and it is still doing the same thing. I will try updating windows and see what happends. Any other known problems?

What are the specs on your laptop?

If your Laptop came with xp you should be fine...

If it is a few years older, and you upgraded to XP, it might not be able to handle both XP and VB...

XP uses a LOT of resources on it's own...

I would think it would have something to do with the Laptop itself if the same software is installed on both machines...

Make sure you have enough resources to meet the suggested requirements for both softwares...

The laptops should be fine. It is an Athlon XP 1400 with 512MB Ram. It came with Windows XP Home.

yeah, no problem there...
(Sounds better than my current home desktop ;-) ... or about the same)

Have you applied the VB Service Packs? (as chiph mentioned)

I think my machines are runing VB6(SP6)
