vb program which will email a file and or message 1

I am using a relational database and am looking to email a file and or a message from this database/application.

It would be using microsoft exchange as the email server.

I thought that maybe I could use vb to capture the information needed to send out an email.

What database are you using? If it's SQL Server, you can use the xp_sendmail procedure to send an email.

Or, you can add the MAPI controls to your VB front-end to send messages. There is MAPI documentation in the knowledge base at microsoft.com.
