Last week I finished my VB program. I put it on a CD, after packaging it using the "package & deployment wizard". The program works fine on computers with access on them (as the program is makes use of access). However, when downloaded onto a computer without access on it, using the same CD, the filters that I use with a datagrid, do not function.
The filters where put in using the "WHERE" function of SQL.
Can someone tell me the how I might be able to fix this, so thet my program will work on all computers.
Thanks. :)

You say you are using Access. Are you really using it or just using a .MDB file?

two things came to my mind.

1- you are using a Access object.
If so you NEED to have a Access runtime installed.

2- the MDAC installed on the PC is not current.
Install the latest MDAC from microsoft. (2.8 or greater).
Put this as part of your instalation.

Hi Frederico.
Yes, you are right, I am using a .mdb file.
Where would I find the the latest MDAC, to include with the instalation?
Thanks. :)

Hi fredericofonseca.
Sorry, don't mind the last Question.
I search for MDAC ver 2.8, and found it.
My program works fine now, so far.
A star goes to you!

Thank you very much, for all your help, Frederico Fonseca!

I have one question though:
Will the instalation of MDAC (ver 2.8) have adverse affects on some computers?
Thanks!

With Windows products you never know.
It may or it may not.

In all the installs I have done so far I have never encountered any problem, but that doesn't mean you won't find them. But the same way you install the 2.8, any other application can do the same, so if something goes wrong the problem is not your application, but Microsofts MDAC or other application causing it.
