Would you folks like to comment on your experience with VB.NET.

Is it worth the learning investment.

My initial reading leads me to believe that it is like "Mana from Heaven", especially if you are writing client / server applications where the connectiod is the internet.

Comments please.

Please see the VB.NET Forum.

Personally, I tried it and still can't get the bitter taste out of my mouth.

Can't tell whether to be more disappointed in myself or Microsoft for this turkey (VB.Net).

I've been playing around with it for the last few months. There's a learning curve. With me starting out as a C++ programmer and then migrating to VB, I can see the benefit of having VB becoming more of an object orientated language. Whether you like it or not, .NET is coming. I'd take the time to learn it.

Like neilkonitzer says, .NET is coming whether you like it or not. I'm taking the time to learn it, as I think it's going to be important. Maybe not for this job, but it will for the next one.
