Hi

does this version (2005 beta 1) expires ?
I don't know but now i'm not able to instal ms visual studio 2005 beta1. It says to insert the disk1, i have a dvd, and it stucks while tring to find CRDesign.dll

After pressing the ok button it searches for this dll and the msgbox appears again. So i have to click cancel and to rollback the installation.

There is no problem at the installation of the framework and the redistributable package for J#.

What do you think?

you could try and download the all new version of it via msdn. I think they already have a better (less bad) beta then the one you have.

As i said before i have the full DVD; about 3,5 GB, Microsoft visual studio 2005 beta 1 with team iso.

I had developed a full application with vb.NET express 2005 beta 1 and now i need to make some changes.

How should i come over this problem?

forgot...

the problem is that a message appeared that VS2005 beta 1 edition has expired and i may now remove it from my computer.

So...answering your own question, yes it does expire!
Also...why on earth did you develop a live application with a Beta edition?

Could wait more..started and ended the development of the application. May be stupid...i know!

I have the source files, can i some how continue in beta2?

You can but try!

Until it expires... Or develops bugs... Then...

This is a losing proposition.

The syntax of VB.NET 2005 beta1 is like VB.NET 2003, or i'm wrong?? The app consists of:
- a reference to excel
- labels,buttons,menu,textboxes + some maskedtextboxes

* (VB 2003 is full version so it won't expire)

Do i have a chance to move the app from beta1 to 2003?

in the 2005 version there are several new controls that you won't have in 2003 like the mskedtextboxes.

I can write some extra code to handle this masked textbox. All the other controls exist also in VB 2003.

So?

So...why don't you try it and see what happens?
