vb 6 grid control - add new row

i have a grid that gets loaded with data from db and i would like to give the user the ability to add a record to the grid.

cmdCreateNew_Click event has this line of code that adds a row to the grid just fine:

grdPaysched.Rows = grdPaysched.Rows + 1

i however am having dificulty highlighting the new row without having the user click on it first.

any ideas on how i can have that new row highlighted automatically upon creation regardless of what row was highlighted when the new row was being added.
