I'm not sure how to explain this but every now and then when I have IE 7 running for a long time (like a day) with multiple tabs, I would not be able to run/start any other programs. I can't even create new tabs again. Not sure if it has something to do with sites I visited or what. However, if I quit IE 7 and restart it again then everything works. So it seems that IE is causing this problem. Has anyone had this problem? How do I resolve it?

How many Tabs open, at crash-time, do you have?

How much installed RAM is there in this machine?

Are there any clues in the Event Viewer?

Try the Reset Internet Explorer 7 settings from this article.

How to optimize or reset Internet Explorer 7

Internet Explorer 7 may exit unexpectedly when multiple tabs are open, and you close a tab that contains a non-HTML file

---5 or 10 it doesn't realy matter. It happens randomly regarding the number of tabs. It seems to based on some sites too.

---2GB of RAM

---I've looked a couple times but have no clue. I tried the eventid.net site but pretty much useless

---tried that didn't work.

I really think this is a problem with IE and Vista running together....or perhaps it's only IE. I have heard announcement from our CIO saying that IE is having some issues with compatibility...not sure exactly what they are though.

We've seen no problem with IE7 on Vista or XP, and I leave my browser running, sometimes for days on end, with many tabs open as well.

Good luck,
