VARIABLE USE??

I am using crystal 8.5 and have a report that uses an informix odbc connection. I want the user to pass a number to the report, but the thing is the number the user enters does not determine the records being returned, the number is used for calculations. I don't no if this is possible I have not used variables in crystal, any help or suggestions would be great.

You should be able to use a number parameter in a formula, e.g.:

{table.amt} * {?numberparm}

Did you try something like this and get an error of some kind? If so, please share your formula.
