I am having problems initializing my variable with CR7. I've had to create a report with MANY variables, a running total could not achieve what I needed. I have initialized them all to 0 with a formula in the report header.

All is well until I relaunch the report (whether I close CR or not), then I get a lot of garbage for my values. The only way to reset it is to change beforereadingrecords-->whileprintingrecords and then put back to beforereadingrecords.

I tried to rmove the "save with data" option but get the same result.

Is there a trick I am missing or is this something with the old CR7? Unfortunately my PC with CR11 on it is kapput so I cannot run any tests. Any help would be appreciated.

There were some issues with CR7 and variables, but my memory is not goodenoughto say this is for sure the problem.

Why would you initializein the report header? By definition all the variables would be zero at that point and you would not even need an initialization formula.

Do you mean group header instead?

I know, I only initialized the variables in the RH after getting the "memory leak".

I guess it is a problem with CR7, i'll try to experiment some more, I need another user to run this report daily so having to tech them how to reset the variable will not be fun
