aix/perts,

under "/var/spool", is there a default dir like pcnfs? can i clean this up? it's filling up the whole filesystem /var.

i know i can clean up "lpd" under /var/spool but pcnfs?

thanks-in-advance

jony2001,

The pcnfs does not appear to be a default dir on our systems. I would have to ask what type of files are in the dir? Sounds to me as if this is a repository for PCs that are NFS mounted to the AIX box...hence dir name pcnfs... however that is pure assumption on my part...

The pc-nfs takes files from the dos machine....and Once the rpc.pcnfsd daemon is started, all print requests go to the default print spooling directory (/var/spool/pcnfs).
My guess is that they are print requests that have not printed?
Maybe they are valid files, maybe not.........Are they gone after the machine reboots?
Are they current dates?

this doc may help.

dietz,

thanks. i think it is a repository for PC's that mapped AIX FS as directory

everytime a user print a file - it accumulates.

i compressed it and it's under observation if it'll cause problem

i'll give you feedback
