Hey folks.

I've got a customer's Vantage K175 hooked up on my desk as a second phone right now (long story). As I'm using it for a while I thought I'd link my Google account as I'm a long time Android user and thought having my Gmail, Google Calendar, and other such features on my desk phone would be sweet. That's the big draw to these phones, right? It's an Android in a desk phone chassis.

Here's my issue... The "lock" screen of the K175 is just a swipe to unlock. I can find no option to add a PIN, pattern, or password to unlock the phone. This means that anyone can walk into my cubicle and check my personal calendar, photos, email, etc. I've gone through the security settings on the phone and there's nothing there even after elevating to admin level.

Please tell me that I'm just missing something somewhere and Avaya didn't disable the basic Android security on these phones.

They did as it is a phone and not a tablet.
I create a new gmail account for every customer with a f*ing VANTAGE

You need to look at adding ENABLE_PHONE_LOCK and PHONE_LOCK_IDLETIME parameters to your K1XXupgrade.txt or 46xxsettings.txt file. Yes, they are off by default (!!!!!).

It would have to be in the 46xxspecials.txt files as they have SET ENABLE_PHONE_LOCK 0 in the auto-generated 46xxsettings.txt file.

Thanks sizbut. That did the trick. Have some pink.

Don't relax too soon. Its now created an itch. If not set, the phone defaults to off - so its odd that the developers would have specifically felt the need to force it to be off. Worth a few days of testing before you tell all your users that they can use the lock icon.
