vanishing fonts in Windows 2000 Prof/Word 2000

Hi,

Many of our stations running Windows 2000 Prof. and Word 2000 are loaded with some special fonts. All of a sudden, when we try to open up a Word document on the server, which opens up OK on all other stations, one particular station cannot show that font and just shows Greek fonts instead.

Any idea or suggestion on how to keep the original fonts in this station ?

Ensure the same fonts are installed on 'ALL' systems including the servers at your workplace.

Ensure the same fonts are installed on 'ALL' systems including the servers at your workplace.

When Software does not find the specified Font it substitutes a font currently loaded. If the loaded font uses vastly different characters then you end up with gibberish.

By ensuring all the same fonts are loaded on every Computer in your workplace you will ensure the files will look properly no matter which computer they are loaded on. It will also cut down on help desk service calls for similar issues.

when too many apps are running in the background, system resources are low
this causes fonts to "disappear", even if they are installed
eliminate unnecessary apps running in the background (i.e. realplayer and quicktime) and hopefully you'll eliminate your "missing font" problem
