Hi Guys,

I am trying to work out how to get to Vertias to validate hot backups of oracle databases after it has completed a hot backup. The way that I have been looking at achieving this so far is using the bpend_notify script (this was suggested by a collegue), however after a few attempts this hasn't worked. I don't really want to touch the BKoracle script, anyone any ideas?

Many thanks for reading and posting replays in advance,

B14

PS. I previously posted this on the VERITAS: Backup Exec back-up Forum.

Can you ask a DBA to review the log on the server and see if the database is going into hot backup mode?

Yeah the Database is going into Hotbackup mode. We currently have it working via the crontab, but we would prefer to control it via Veritas. Having done some reading round the subject, looks like veritas doesn't call the bpend_notify script. We did try turning it into a policy, but this doesn't seem to have worked either.

It is currently working at the moment, but it would be better if we could use Veritas to do this.

Thanks in advance again,

B14 :)
